HC Deb 02 November 1908 vol 195 c778
MR. T. F. RICHARDS

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to a sentence of five years passed at the Middlesex Sessions by Sir R. Littler, upon a woman named Elizabeth Morrice, fifty-two years of age, for stealing 1d.; and whether he will say what action he proposes to take towards remitting some part of the punishment.

MR. HERBERT SAMUEL

This woman has applied for leave to appeal against her sentence, and in the circumstances my right hon. friend cannot, of course, express any opinion upon the case.
