HC Deb 27 May 1908 vol 189 cc1099-100
MR. RAMSAY MACDONALD (Leicester)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the malpractices of agents employed by industrial insurance companies and of the large sums representing unclaimed policies and lapsed insurances which are now in the possession of these companies, he would appoint a Commission or a Committee to inquire into the question of industrial insurance with a view to its proper regulation.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF TRADE (Mr. CHURCHILL,) Dundee

I can only refer my hon. friend to my reply to a Question asked me on this subject by the hon. Member for South Down on the 21st instant, of which, for his convenience, I am sending him a copy.
