HC Deb 26 May 1908 vol 189 cc928-9
MR. HAZLETON (Galway, N.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland how many temporary offices there are at present under the Local Government Board; and how many temporary offices under that Board have been during the past three years made permanent, with the names and salaries of those holdings such offices.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) There are nine classes of temporary posts at present under the Local Government Board, excluding typists, boy clerks, fire lighters, and housemaids, who are employed by the week. One temporary post has been made permanent during the period named, that of the assistant engineer, Mr. A. D. Price, whose present salary is £500 a year.
