The Comptroller of the Household reported His Majesty's Answer to the Address, as followeth—

"I have received your Address praying that I will give directions that a Monument be erected in the Collegiate Church of St. Peter, Westminster, to the Memory of the late Right Honourable Sir Henry Campbell-Bannerman; with an Inscription expressive of the high sense entertained by the House of Commons of the eminent services rendered by him to the Country in Parliament and in great Offices of State, and assuring Me that you will make good the expenses attending the same.

"I shall give directions in accordance with your Address."
