HC Deb 21 May 1908 vol 189 c504
MR. CARLILE (Hertfordshire, St. Albans)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will give a Return showing the number and the dates of their appointment of the consuls and trade representatives accredited to the various foreign countries and self-governing Colonies for each year since 1897.

MR. CHURCHILL

The hon. Member will find the information in regard to the consuls in the Foreign Office List. Since 1897 four trade correspondents have been appointed in South Africa, six in Australia, and three in New Zealand, all remunerated by fees. I am now considering the appointment of a salaried trade agent in each of the self-governing Colonies.
