HC Deb 19 May 1908 vol 189 cc76-7
MR. WILES (Islington, S.)

I beg to ask the Postmaster-General whether he can now state when the scheme for placing on the establishment the male clerical staff of the general manager of the London Post Office telephone department will come into force, so that the male portion of the staff may secure the same advantages which are already enjoyed by the female portion of the telephone service.

THE POSTMASTER-GENERAL (Mr. SYDNEY BUXTON, Tower Hamlets, Poplar)

I have received a communication on this subject from the representatives of the staff in question. The matter has been under consideration with the Treasury.
