HC Deb 18 May 1908 vol 188 cc1612-3
MR. SHEEHAN (Cork County, Mid.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether there is any untenanted land in the neighbourhood of the home farm on the Colthurst estate, Ballyvourney, county Cork; and, if so, can he state the extent of it and whether it has been acquired for the purposes of distribution by the Estates Commissioners, or what action do they propose to take ill reference to the matter in connection with the sale of this estate (Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners inform me that the lands comprised in the Ballyvourney portion of the estate in question consist of tenanted lands, and of about 448 acres of land valued at £118, which latter is proposed to be sold and purchased by the vendor. The last-named land is stated to consist of plantations and some plots in the village of Ballyvourney. The vendor does not appear to own any other land in the vicinity. The Commissioners have referred the case to an inspector for report.
