ARNOLD-FORSTERI beg to ask the Secretary of State for War how many of the 1,406 men who have joined the Special Reserve of the Artillery and of the 10,830 men who have joined the Special Reserve of the Infantry are men who have transfered from the Militia in consideration of the receipt of a bounty; and how many are new enlistments.
§ MR. HALDANEIn the case of the Artillery 380 were transferred from the 1639 Militia, 1,010 were recruits, and 15 reenlisted men. In the case of the Infantry 4,875 were transferred from the Militia, 5,844 were recruits, and 111 re-enlisted men.
