HC Deb 18 May 1908 vol 188 c1612
MR. WILLIAM O'BRIEN (Cork)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether, having regard to the uneasiness which exists among professors of the Cork and Galway Colleges as to their status under the Irish Universities Bill and the new charters, he can make any reassuring statement on the subject.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) Existing professors of the Cork and Galway Colleges who may be offered, and may accept, equivalent positions in the reconstituted colleges will have the same tenure of office secured to them as that under winch they hold at present.
