HC Deb 18 May 1908 vol 188 c1662
MR. EVELYN CECIL (Aston Manor)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education whether the salaries of teachers in Church of England schools in Merionethshire are now being paid by the local education authority or by the Board of Education under the Local Authority Default Act, 1904.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION (Mr. RUNCIMAN,) Dewsbury

The Board understood that the salaries which became due at the last quarter day would be paid by the local education authority. In any case no payments in respect of any of the March salaries have been made by the Board of Education under the Local Authority Default Act, 1904, and the Board have no reason to believe that any salaries remain unpaid.
