§ MR. F. MEEHANTo ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that an evicted tenant named James McMeekin, on the estate of G. L. Young, County Derry, who was evicted in 1907, has applied to the Estates Commissioners to be reinstated; and whether the Estates Commissioners, having regard to the fact that he is a poor man and has a wife and a large family depending on him for their support., and that the farm is offered for sale by the landlord, would take immediate action to have him reinstated.
(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners have received the application in question, but, having regard to the date of the eviction, they cannot undertake to intervene in the matter.
