HC Deb 14 May 1908 vol 188 c1317
MR. T. F. RICHARDS (Wolverhampton, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he will state what firms have secured the contracts for the supply of painting brushes to his Department.

MR. HALDANE

It is not the practice to give the names in eases of this kind. The War Department never publishes the names of firms who secure Army contracts.

MR. CURRAN (Durham, Jarrow)

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is a firm producing War Office materials the wages of whose workmen are much less than it costs to produce the same material at Enfield?

MR. HALDANE

Perhaps the hon. Member will give me further information on that point.

MR. CURRAN

The War Department has already been supplied with the information.
