I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland when he expects to be in a position to make the appointments to the chairs in the medical faculties in Glasgow and Edinburgh Universities; whether he is aware that the professors to be appointed will have the duties to perform of examiners for pass certificates, and that the students will suffer disadvantage from the fact that the offices of lecturers and examiners will this session be dissociated; and whether in these circumstances he will see that no further delay occurs.
