To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he is aware that the Local Government Board received a deputation of veterinary surgeons in reference to the appointment of a central veterinary authority to look after the dairies and cowsheds in Ireland; and if it is contemplated to appoint a veterinary surgeon for this purpose, or is it' intended to transfer this department of the Board's work over to the veterinary branch of the Board of Agriculture.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.)The Local Government Board will not be in a position to make any final recommendation on this subject until they have had some six months experience of the working of their new order.
