§ MR. O'SHEE (Waterford, W.)I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether the Estates Commissioners have an application from Edward Coleman, an evicted tenant, of the Grant Estate, County Waterford, for reinstatement on their files; how long have they had the application; whether he is aware that Mr. Coleman has died since the application was lodged, and that his children are still awaiting restoration to his former holding; whether the same is in the possession of the owner; and what steps have been taken to acquire the lands in order to reinstate them.
§ MR. BIRRELLThe Estates Commissioners received an application in 1904 from Edmond Coleman, then resident in New York, for reinstatement in a holding from which he was evicted in 1880. The Commissioners decided to take no action in the matter. Coleman died in 1906, and his daughter subsequently made a application for the holding, which is held under lease by another tenant. The Commissioners do not propose to take any action upon this application.
