§ MR. WATTTo ask the Lord Advocate if he will say how many sheriff clerks there are in Scotland who are engaged in pursuits other than that of solicitor; how many of them are secretary, treasurer, or other paid official of local trading companies; how many of them are auditors either of trading companies' accounts or of public accounts; and how many of them are local agents of banking companies.
(Answered by Mr. Thomas Shaw.) I have really nothing to add to the Answer given to my hon. friend on 30th March last, when I stated that I should be glad to be furnished with particulars of the specific instances on which his question was based. If my hon. friend will supply me with this information I will be in a better position to consider the desirability of making further inquiries in the direction he desires.
