HC Deb 11 May 1908 vol 188 c723
MAJOR ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

I beg to ask the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the inadequacy of the funds granted to the Royal Commission on Horse Breeding, as expressed in their Reports of 1895, 1899, 1901, 1903, 1905, and 1907, and to the recommendations of this Commission as regards the supply of horses for military purposes; and whether, in view of these facts, he can see his way to increase the grant for this purpose.

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. LLOYD-GEORGE,) Carnarvon Boroughs

The Report of the Royal Commission is under the consideration of the Government, and I am not in a position to make any statement on the subject at present.
