HC Deb 05 May 1908 vol 188 cc72-3
CAPTAIN CRAIG (Down, E.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that a cattle-drive took place on Monday the 20th April last off the farms of Martin Burke, Mrs. Hanley, and D. Ford, all residing in the vicinity of Carrowcrahen, Tubber, Gort, county Galway; what arrests have been made; and what sentences have been passed.

MR. BIRRELL

The cattle-drive referred to was reported to the police on the morning of the 19th April as having occurred during the preceding night. The police recovered all the cattle in the course of the morning. No one was seen driving the cattle off, and consequently no arrests were possible.
