§ MR. FFRENCHTo ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that John Keating was evicted by a middleman named Gahan, who is a purchasing tenant on the Ely estate; whether Gahan bought his own holding at twenty-seven years purchase and would not sell to Keating at the same price; and if the Estates Commissioners will see that this man's little holding is restored to him.
(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The applicant held as a sub-tenant, and his case therefore does not come under the provisions of the Acts relating to the reinstatement of evicted tenants. The Estates Commissioners have no power to interfere in the matter.
