I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether any one of the Powers who signed the Treaty of Paris in 1856 has proposed that it should be modified in any way.

There were seven Powers who were parties to the Treaty of Paris, and I can answer Questions only respecting the action of His Majesty's Government. We are not engaged in any negotiation respecting any modification of the Treaty, nor am I aware that any such is proceeding.
