CAPTAIN FABER (Hampshire, Andover)To ask the Prime Minister whether, looking at the recent trouble which arose in South Africa through the finger-print orders, and as we have no Imperial opinion about the race question, he would communicate with the self-governing Colonies as to the desirability of a Commission which should elaborate an imperial scheme to anticipate such events by a common understanding.
(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) The Secretary of State for the Colonies has recently stated in the House of Lords his reasons for deprecating the line of action suggested, and I would therefore refer the hon. Member to that statement which was made on the 17th February.
