I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether he can give information as to the amount per head of population derived from import duties in the three following countries, viz., the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Germany.

The net revenue from import duties (after deducting drawbacks and refunds) was equivalent in the last completed financial year to the following sums per annum per head of population: United Kingdom 15s. 3d., United States of America 15s. 9d., Germany 9s. 5d.
