HC Deb 26 March 1908 vol 186 cc1541-2
MR. ROWLANDS (Kent, Dartford)

To ask the Postmaster-General, whether he can now consider the possibility of authorising the redirection of letters of lodgers in cases where the person has given notice to the Post Office on his removal that he will be prepared to pay a fee for the redirection and delivery of his letters at the new address.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) This question has recently been carefully considered; but in view of the practical difficulties which present themselves, I regret that I do not see my way to extend to lodgers the privilege of redirection even on payment of a fee.
