HC Deb 26 March 1908 vol 186 cc1572-3
MR. JOHN REDMOND (Waterford)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education whether it is intended that the special grant for medical inspection and other purposes which he has stated he is prepared to recommend the Treasury to extend to elementary schools in England and Wales will be available for provided as well as non-provided schools; and whether the grant to provided schools would be affected by the passage of the Education Bill into law.

MR. MCKENNA

The statement which the hon. Member quotes was inaccurately reported. I informed a deputation that I could not undertake to recommend the Chancellor of the Exchequer to make a special grant for medical inspection or to approach him with a view to obtaining any increase of grant for the ensuing year.
