I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he will suggest to the Transvaal Government the advisability of maintaining the system of Chinese indentured labour in the Witwatersrand mines, in view of the low death rate of the Chinese as compared with the death rate of the native mine-workers.
