HC Deb 25 March 1908 vol 186 cc1409-10
MR. LANE-FOX

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education whether the Board have received an appeal from the ratepayers of Barwick-in-Elmet for an inquiry to be held by the Board before the proposal of the local education authority of the West Riding to erect a provided school in that village, in addition to the existing Church school, is finally sanctioned; and whether he will grant such inquiry.

MR. McKENNA

Yes, Sir; an appeal has been received and the case is now under consideration, but I am not yet in a position to say whether a public inquiry will be necessary.
