MCKENNAThe financial statement of the Hertfordshire County Council for the year 1906–7 has not yet been received, but I am informed that during the current year the local authority have raised or are raising £9,000 from the rates in respect of education other than elementary, which would be equivalent to a rate of about 1¼d. in the £.
