HC Deb 19 March 1908 vol 186 c794
MR. BOTTOMLEY

I beg to ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, what progress he has made in arriving at a definite conclusion in regard to the expediency of taxing advertisements, racing stakes, betting, titles, theatre tickets, share certificates, and imposing an employment tax and a graduated receipt tax.

MR. ASQUITH

I can only say with regard to this and similar suggestions that my mind is still in a receptive state.
