HC Deb 16 March 1908 vol 186 cc190-1
MR. GIBBS (Bristol, W.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the Government have satisfied themselves that the results of the treaty now pending between Great Britain and Siam would be beneficial to British trade in those parts.

THE FINANCIAL SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Mr. RUNCIMAN,; for Sir EDWARD GREY) Dewsbury

British trade interests will, of course, be borne in mind. But my right hon. friend is waiting till he receives a draft of the terms which are proposed, and he must have an opportunity of considering them before he can answer questions on the subject.
