HC Deb 12 March 1908 vol 185 c1765
MR. BRIDGEMAN (Shropshire, Oswestry)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education if any compensation will be paid to teachers who may lose their employment if the Education Bill becomes law, and who will iiot, even with an additional year of recorded service, have reached a pensionable age.

MR. MCKENNA

No, Sir, bur, I imagine that the large increase of Parliamentary grant under the Bill will result in an increased demand for efficient teachers. There is nothing in the Bill which will restrict the demand for teachers.
