HC Deb 12 March 1908 vol 185 cc1766-7
MR. ANNAN BRYCE (Inverness Burghs)

I beg to ask the First Commissioner of Works whether he is aware that the clock on the Marble Arch lodge gate, lately demolished, has been of especial convenience to the public owing to the paucity of clocks on the Oxford Street Bayswater Road line of traffic; and whether he will arrange for the erection of a clock with a larger dial, capable of illumination at night, in some prominent position near the site of the old gate lodge.

THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (Mr. HARCOURT,) Lancashire, Rossendale

I am aware of the convenience to the public, and it is intended to re erect the clock on the new lodge in a position where I hope that convenience may be maintained. If I see an opportunity in the future to enable the public to know the time more easily and correctly I shall not fail to take advantage of it.
