HC Deb 11 March 1908 vol 185 cc1508-9
MR. GIBBS (Bristol. W.)

To ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether he is aware that, although he has been advised that it is not necessary that each, consignment of milk sold by the farmers should be accompanied by a warranty, the authorities in several localities are insisting upon such warranty, thereby causing great hardship to milk vendors; and what steps he will take in the matter.

(Answered by Sir Edward Strachey.) The Board are not aware of any case in which a local authority has taken action in the direction indicated; but if the hon. Member will be good enough to supply them with information on the subject inquiry will be made.
