§ MR WEIRI beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland, having regard to the fact that sixteen trawlers were detected on forty-four different occasions in the Moray Firth in December and January, will he state how many of these vessels were flying a foreign flag, and the nationality of such flag; and in how many instances proceedings have been instituted for illegal trawling.
§ MR SINCLAIRSo far as I am aware all the trawlers referred to were flying a foreign flag; twelve were flying the Norwegian and the others flags of other foreign countries. So far, in one case proceedings have been instituted.
