HC Deb 10 March 1908 vol 185 c1299
SIR F. CAWLEY (Lancashire, Prestwich)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether abatement of income-tax can be claimed on an income of £690 per annum when that income is derived from dividends which are paid tree of income-tax.

MR. RUNCIMAN

An income of £690 free of tax represents a gross income of over £700, and does not therefore fall within the statutory limits of abatement.
