HC Deb 10 March 1908 vol 185 c1307
MR. JOHN WARD

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is contemplating the appointment of a Departmental Committee to consider the revision of the special rules for the manufacture of earthenware and china, as a consequence of the passing of the Workmen's Compensation Act, 1906; and whether, having regard to the technical nature of some of the processes, he will appoint a representative of the workers and e representative of the manufacturers upon such Committee.

MR. GLADSTONE

Yes, Sir; I propose to appoint such a Committee. It is required on other grounds besides the passing of the Workmen's Compensation Act, and its scope will be somewhat wider than the mere revision of rules. I propose to include in the Committee representatives of the workers and of the manufacturers.
