I beg to ask the President of the Board of Education whether the Board have received any reply from the Swansea local authority to the Board's letter of the 10th February, which requested the local authority for a prompt reply with reference to the teachers' salaries in the Oxford Street School; and, if not, what steps he proposes to take.

The Board have been informed that the letter referred to will be considered by the education committee of the town council at a meeting which takes place to-day.

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the clerk to the council has been informed there is no urgency, and that they need take no steps and consider the matter?

No, Sir; that is the first I have heard of that.
