HC Deb 06 March 1908 vol 185 c993
MR. WILKIE

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury if the clerks in the offices of the surveyors of taxes, who are wholly employed and paid by the Government, are now to be placed on the permanent establishment of the Civil List, the same as other Civil Servants.

(Answered by Mr. Runciman.) I must refer the hon. Member to the Answer given by the Chancellor of the Exchequer yesterday, and printed in to-day's Notice Paper, to a similar Question by the hon. Member for South Down. I can, of course, add nothing to that reply.
