MACVEAGHTo ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer whether 852 he has investigated the case of the clerks to the surveyors of taxes, in accordance with the promise given to the deputation of clerks received by him on 2nd May last; and if he can state when he will announce the result of his investigation.
