HC Deb 03 March 1908 vol 185 c510
MR. CHAPLIN (Surrey, Wimbledon)

To ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether the Board will cause inquiry to be made as to the extent and character of the operations carried on in this country by foreign beef trusts.

(Answered by Sir Edward Strachey.) We have had the matter to which the right hon. Member refers under observation for some time past. It must be doubtful whether any formal inquiry respecting it would be feasible, but the suggestion will be kept in view.
