To ask the Secretary for Scotland what was the amount of pension granted to the rector of the Girls' High School, Glasgow, on his retrial in October, 1905; what was the length of service he had given to the board; and what is the salary now paid to his successor.

(Answered by Mr. Sinclair.) The Department are informed by the Glasgow School Board that the amount of retiring allowance granted to the rector of the Glasgow High School for Girls was £325 per annum. He entered the Board's service in July, 1875, his length of service thus being 30½ years. The salary of his successor, a lady, commenced at £400 per annum and is now £500 per annum.
