HC Deb 25 June 1908 vol 191 cc79-80
CAPTAIN ARTHUR MURRAY (Kincardineshire)

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for India whether he is aware that a large number of officers and men engaged in the recent operations against the Zakka Khel and Mohmands are already in possession of the 1895 India Medal (Queen's Head); whether it is the intention of the Government to recommend that a medal be granted to the troops engaged in those operations; and, if so, whether the Government will bear in mind the precedent established in connection with the granting of medals for service in Africa during His Majesty's reign, and will recommend that a King's Head Medal with distinctive ribbon be granted to all engaged in the operations referred to.

MR. BUCHANAN

The Answer to the first portion of this Question is in the affirmative. As regards the other portions, I am not in a position to make any statement.
