HC Deb 25 June 1908 vol 191 cc80-1
MR. ALDEN (Middlesex, Tottenham)

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will state when he will be in a position to make a full statement respecting the proposed new Court to be constituted for the trial of Dinizulu; and whether he has yet received official information as to the date when the preliminary investigation will be brought to a close.

COLONEL SEELY

We are informed officially that the Attorney-General of Natal expects the preliminary examination to be finished within the next six weeks; and that in the event of the magistrate committing Dinizulu for trial, the Government will make every effort consistent with the requirements of the defence to expedite the commencement of the proceedings.
