HC Deb 02 June 1908 vol 189 c1727
MR. A. J. BALFOUR (City of London)

asked as to the arrangements for Thursday.

MR. ASQUITH

said that from inquiries he had made, he believed it to be possible, while maintaining the character of Thursday as a day of Supply, for the House to meet at twelve on that day. The Foreign Office Vote would be put down. He imagined that it would be for the general convenience of the House that the consideration of that Vote should be concluded at an early hour. A further opportunity would be given for a general discussion on the Foreign Office Vote.

MR. SWIFT MACNEILL

Will Questions be taken on Thursday? Of course that is an inconvenience to Ministers.

MR. ASQUITH

I will consider that.

MR. SWIFT MACNEILL

I will put them down on chance.

MR. A. J. BALFOUR

In order that there may be no misunderstanding, may we take it the debate on the Foreign Office Vote will not be concluded on Thursday, and that there will be another opportunity for discussing it?

MR. ASQUITH

was understood to assent to that.
