I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland if he has any return of the number of the population in the County of Roxburgh employed in agriculture; and whether the number so employed is on the increase or decrease.

The number of persons employed in agriculture in the County of Roxburgh, at the time of the last Census, 1901, was 5,372, which is 436 less than the corresponding number at the time of the 1891 Census, and 538 less than the corresponding number at the time of the 1881 Census.
