HC Deb 30 July 1908 vol 193 cc1715-6
MR. ELLIS (Nottinghamshire, Rushcliffe)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can now state the nature of the tribunal to whom the investigation of the importation of spirits into Nigeria is to be referred; what is its constitution; and what are the terms of reference thereto.

(Answered by Colonel Seely). The Colonial Office is in communication with the Native Races and the Liquor Traffic United Committee as to the best manner of conducting the investigation. It is probable that some time will elapse before the details can be settled, but my right hon. friend may rest assured that there shall be no avoidable delay.
