SEDDON (Lancashire, Newton)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the business done by the Provincial Homes and other 1760 building societies, and the charges implied by Judge Parry against them, he can give any assurance of immediate action to protect the public against alleged fraud.
§ MR. CHURCHILLI must refer my hon. friend to the reply given on the 27th July to my hon. friend the Member for the Prestwich Division. I have directed that a careful examination of the subject be made in order to see whether further legislation is necessary.
