HC Deb 28 July 1908 vol 193 c1173
MR. JOHN O'DONNELL (Mayo, S.)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether the Post Office Department obliges post office assistants to work on Sunday without remuneration; and, if so, when will the practice be discontinued and these officials placed on the same footing as those in other grades of the service.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) Assistants are not required to undertake Sunday duty without remuneration. Such duty is taken into account in fixing the weekly wages.
