REESI beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for India whether the local Governments and high judicial authorities consulted, condemned the proposed separation of executive and judicial functions in the Indian Civil Service; and, if so, whether the opinions of such Governments and authorities will be made public.
§ MR. BUCHANANThe opinions of the local Governments and other authorities consulted on this subject have not yet reached the Secretary of State: it is not possible, therefore, to say whether they are papers which could suitably be made public.
