HC Deb 27 July 1908 vol 193 c816
MR. ELLIS GRIFFITH (Anglesey)

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether there is any regular system of inspecting the shops of animal dealers with the view of finding out the number of dogs which they keep, and whether they pay licences for each of such dogs.

(Answered by Mr. Hobhouse.) No special regulations have been issued respecting these dogs, but it is a part of the officers' duty to see that licences are taken for all dogs which are liable to duty, and the Board have no reason to think that there is any evasion of duty on the part of dealers in dogs.
