HC Deb 23 July 1908 vol 193 c303
MR. J. DEVLIN (Belfast, W.)

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in view of the new Patent Law (Amendment) Act, 1907, he would instruct British consuls and agents abroad to bring under the notice of patent holders in the various countries the special advantages which Ireland offers for the working of such patents.

(Answered by Secretary Sir Edward Grey.) It would not be practicable for His Majesty's Government to take such action as that proposed by the hon. Member. A brief notice of the terms of the new Patents Act as affecting patent-holders abroad has already been sent to every holder of a British patent, whether in the United Kingdom or abroad, and has also been published in the Board of Trade Journal.
